Russia–Ukraine War

The largest land war in Europe since 1945, with a >1,000 km front line from the Kharkiv axis to Kherson. The conflict has acted as the largest live test of modern weapon systems since Vietnam — practically every category in this report has produced actual combat data here.

💡 Strategic lessons

  • Mass production versus precision: a Russian 152 mm OFAB bomb with UMPK glide kit (~USD 25,000) multiplied by huge numbers defeats a Western precision munition of USD 200,000 if the queue is months long.
  • Drone revolution: the combination of Bayraktar, FPV quadcopters, and long-range Magura sea drones has redrawn the tactical classroom.
  • Western air defense has proven itself against Russian top-end (Patriot vs Kinzhal, IRIS-T vs cruise, NASAMS vs Shahed), but interceptor production capacity continues to lag.
