Naval Strike Missile (NSM) / JSM

Kongsberg's NSM (Naval Strike Missile) is a 5th-generation sea-skimming anti-ship cruise missile. Range 185+ km, weight 410 kg, subsonic (Mach 0.9) — it is deliberately not supersonic; instead it bets on stealth, low RCS and complex terminal-phase maneuvering. Propulsion TRI-40 turbojet, guidance INS + GPS + IIR seeker with "automatic target recognition" (Kongsberg ATR software that compares ships by silhouette and specifically identifies the target within a fleet). JSM (Joint Strike Missile) is the F-35 internal-bay version, fitting weapon bay 2 of the F-35A — the primary anti-ship choice for F-35 users in Northern Europe and Australia.
