AeroVironment Switchblade 300 / 600
AeroVironment · Produced in United States
Operating principle
The Switchblade is an infantry-portable loitering munition. The 300 variant weighs only 2.5 kg and fits in a tubular launcher carried over the shoulder by a single soldier. On launch, the Switchblade is shot upward by a small gas cartridge, unfolds its wings (hence the name: "switchblade" like a pocket knife), and cruises on an electric motor with propeller. The 600 variant (15 kg, 40 km range, 40 minutes of loiter) carries a tandem anti-tank warhead effective against the T-72/T-80/T-90, while the 300 (10 km, 15 min) is intended against personnel and light vehicles.
