IAI Harop / Harpy

Operating principle
The Harop is a loitering munition — a hybrid between a UAV and a cruise missile — optimized for anti-radar and SEAD/DEAD roles (Suppression/Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses). It is launched from a container launcher (canister release + rocket boost), unfolds its wings, and cruises at UAV altitude (1,000–3,000 m) for up to 9 hours in a patrol area until a radar emitter is detected. It then dives vertically onto the emitter target with a passive radar-homing seeker tracking the exact radar signal; alternatively, the operator can guide a prioritized target via an EO link. The 23 kg warhead detonates on impact.
