Operating principle
GMLRS is the munition. M30A1/A2 (alternative warhead, "bullet effect against personnel") and M31A1 (unitary, "building-buster") are the standard 70 km rounds; ER-GMLRS extends range to 150 km with the same airframe shape but a new motor. Used in mass in Ukraine since 2022; production target ~14,000/year by 2025 (was ~9,000 in 2022). Unit price: ~USD 168,000 per round.
