Operating principle

The RCH 155 is a radical new SP howitzer architecture: a 155 mm L/52 turret (derived from PzH 2000) on a Boxer 8×8 chassis. The core trick is "fire-on-the-move" — through full stabilization the RCH 155 can fire while driving at speeds up to 50 km/h, giving it a drone-resistant "shoot-and-scoot" doctrine. Crew of 2 (instead of 5 in conventional howitzers), autoloader, 30 rounds in chassis. First customer: the UK chose the RCH 155 in 2024 as the AS90 successor (USD 1 billion contract). Germany and Ukraine (54 vehicles funded by allies in 2024) are also customers.
