The CAESAR is France's 6×6 (originally Renault Sherpa truck, later Tatra truck) wheeled SP howitzer — not tracked, which makes it considerably lighter (~17 tons vs 47 tons for K9) and strategically transportable by C-130 or A400M. 155 mm/52-cal tube, range 40+ km. Crew of 5, fire rate 6 rounds in 1 minute. Users: France (~80), Denmark, Thailand, Indonesia, Belgium, Czechia (52, USD 230 million), Ukraine (49 delivered 2022–2024 by France and Denmark), Saudi Arabia, Lithuania. Unit price: ~USD 8 million. Combat in Ukraine: very effective in shoot-and-scoot tactics; 7+ lost to Lancet and Russian counter-battery per Oryx.
