ATACMS / PrSM

ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) is a ballistic SRBM launched from M270 MLRS or M142 HIMARS launchers — the same launcher as GMLRS rockets, but one ATACMS per pod instead of six GMLRS. Length 3.98 m, range 165–300 km (depending on Block version), payload ranging from submunitions (M39 cluster) to a single 215 kg unitary warhead (M48/M57). Guidance: GPS + INS, no seeker — pure ballistic precision. Proven in Ukraine 2023–2024 as a "game-changer" for deep-strike precision against Russian air bases, ammo depots and command posts (300 km range against pre-known coordinates). PrSM (Precision Strike Missile, in build-up) is the successor: same launcher cell but 500+ km range, better precision, and in later increments multi-mode seekers (anti-ship Increment 4) and combined land-attack/anti-ship roles. Unit price ATACMS: ~USD 1.5 million. Users: US, ROK, Romania, Poland, Estonia, Morocco, Bahrain, UAE, Turkey, Greece, Ukraine.
