Boeing F-15EX Eagle II
Boeing · Produced in United States
Operating principle
The F-15EX is the modern rebuild of the F-15 platform — no stealth, but the most capable 4.5th-generation air-force and strike jet in production. Two F110-GE-129 turbofans (>200 kN total thrust), Mach 2.5 top speed, payload 13,380 kg across 23 hardpoints (a record for air-force fighters). Sensors: Raytheon AN/APG-82(V)1 AESA radar, EPAWSS (Eagle Passive/Active Warning Survivability System) replacing the older TEWS, and a BAE EW suite. The key feature is the Open Mission Systems (OMS) avionics architecture, which enables fast integration of new weapons and sensors — Lockheed Martin's closed F-35 architecture is slower in this regard.
