Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian
Boeing · Produced in United States
Operating principle
The AH-64E "Guardian" is the most modern version of the Apache attack helicopter, heavily armed and heavily armored. Tandem two-seat cockpit (gunner in front, pilot behind), two General Electric T700-GE-701D turboshaft engines (~2,000 hp each), maximum speed 293 km/h, combat radius 480 km. It carries up to 16 AGM-114 Hellfire missiles on four hardpoints, plus 76 70 mm Hydra rockets in two pods, plus a 30 mm M230 Chain Gun with 1,200 rounds (stabilized, slewed via the pilot's helmet — looking equals aiming). The E variant has Link 16, manned-unmanned teaming with MUM-T software (the Apache pilot can task an MQ-1C Gray Eagle or Switchblade swarm from his cockpit), and composite rotors.
