KNDS Leclerc XLR

The Leclerc is the French MBT — the first in production with an autoloader (no loader crew member, so a three-man crew instead of four). 56 tons, lighter than Abrams or Leopard 2 with comparable protection thanks to modular armor (NERA layers). 1,500 hp Hyperbar V8X-1500 turbo-diesel, top speed 71 km/h. Main weapon GIAT CN120-26 (120 mm L/52 smoothbore). XLR upgrade (in introduction since 2022) adds sensors and BMS. Limited export: UAE only (388 tanks). Ukraine received a handful of Leclercs in 2023.
