Civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) under Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) under Hemedti, ongoing since April 2023.
- SAF systems: MiG-29SE, Su-25, Mi-24/35 helicopters, T-72/T-55, BTR-80, Iranian Mohajer-6 drones (from 2023), Bayraktar TB2 (>10 reported).
- RSF systems: Lighter vehicles (Toyota technicals), armed by the UAE with Wing Loong II and CH-4 drones (reports — UAE denies), Iranian MANPADS via Russian sympathizers, and Russian Wagner / Africa Corps trainers in the first phase.
- Notable: the Sudan war is one of the first conflicts in which commercial drones (DJIs converted for grenade drops) play a dominant tactical role for two unevenly matched parties — low-tech but effective for urban combat.
